Bastogne, December 13, 2014.
Meet and greet at the Bastogne Barracks

Edward went by convoy from Boston to Scotland then by truck to a port in England, where he arrived at their embarkation area the day of D-Day. He took a troop ship to the staging area just off of Utah Beach, and then boarded an LCI for landing on the beach.
After landing on D+5, his unit went on to liberate Cherbourg and was the first unit to cross the Seine River in France towards Paris. He then fought in the Battle of the Bulge, through Holland, Belgium, Luxembourg, and Germany.
Edward was in Czechoslovakia when the war ended on V-E day.
